Developing a new pattern for Cross Body Bag

Working with multiple strands of #10 crochet cotton, and other similar threads or thin yarns fascinates me.  A variety of tweeds and blends can be achieved. Confession...I have crochet thread that is 40 or more years old.  So, I've decided to design bags and purses with multiple strands of cotton thread.  When working with multiple strands, a larger hook can be used, and the weight and density of the crochet fabric can be tight and dense, or loose and drapey.  The construction of this purse is spiral rounds, which eliminates any seams.  This method also allows for creativity with color changes and bands of decorative stitches.     One decorative stitch I keep coming back to is spike stitches.  Spike stitch elongates a stitch to reach down and over previously worked rows, and results in interesting textural and color contrast.  So here it is.  I will be testing my pattern to work the bugs out. I'm picky, so I will work my written pattern three times to insure that I can
Just finished!       This is a slightly modified version of the Desert Winds Triangle Scarf by Jess Coppom found on Ravelry.  I love this pattern.  It is fun to work, and I have adapted it several times to use yarn and thread that has been lingering in my bin.  This one came out beautifully.    I used a left over ball of #1 weight acrylic/cotton yarn that has a gradient color shift, with leftover balls of cotton/linen yarn #2 weight held together, and a J hook.  The yarns have lost their labels so I can't be more specific.    I love the color shift the lavender, green and turquoise #2 yarns give, and the variation of the repeating gradient color of the #1 yarn.      I modified the beginning by working the stitches of the first row into a magic circle to make a fat pointed end to the scarf, and ended by drawing all the stitches of the last row together into a fat point, by working a dc decrease across all stitches of the last row.    It drapes beautifully, and is perfect for

Welcome! Celebrating first Post

Welcome! I love crochet, do you?  I started out at age 5 when my grandmother taught me to make Granny Squares from an Aunt Lydia's rug kit.  The colors were cocoa brown, bright pink and white.  From then on, I've taught myself to crochet, tackling all sorts of patterns, and being curious about experimenting. Asking myself what will happen if I combine stitches in different ways.   Now I've completed the Level I CIP certified instructor course, and am enjoying the confirmation of my skills. To celebrate, I've just finished my first pattern post to Ravelry and am posting the pattern here.    Any Size Cellphone or Tablet Cozy Crochet by Wildfingers Crochet Stitches, Abbreviations & Techniques Used ch (chain stitch) sc (single crochet) sl st (slip stitch) yo (yarn over) Technique Notes The cozy is worked in a spiral, rounds are not joined.
